Marí Alessandrini is originally from Patagonia in Argentina. At a very young age, she developed a keen interest in photography and the performing arts. She worked for ten years as a photographer, then as a director and acrobat in an itinerant circus company. At the age of 26, she moved to Geneva and trained in directing and visual arts at the HEAD. She directed several short films that have been selected in many international festivals. She was selected at the Cinéfondation residency from the Cannes Film Festival to develop ZAHORÍ, her first feature-length fiction film.
