In the middle of the Patagonian steppe, Mora is in revolt against school and asserts himself against his parents, Western alternatives whose dream of freedom is turning into a nightmare. Mora is forced to cross the steppe to go to boarding school with her little brother Himeko. But one day, she refuses to go there to help her only friend, Nazareno, an old Mapuche gaucho who has lost his horse in the meanders of the steppe.
